![]() The Keyboard Viewer uses the macOS Accessibility Keyboard, which provides advanced typing (such as typing suggestions) and navigation features. If you changed your input source or keyboard layout in step 2, be sure to change it back, if necessary. An orange outline appears around dead keys, modifier keys that can be pressed with another key to enter a letter with a diacritical mark. For example, press and hold the Option key or the Option and Shift keys. Press a modifier key, or a combination of modifier keys, to see special characters or symbols you can type. Press the key on your keyboard that corresponds to the character shown in the Keyboard Viewer, or click the key in the Keyboard Viewer. (You may need to scroll down.) Go to Text Input on the right, click Edit, then turn on “Show Input menu in menu bar.”Ĭlick the Input menu in the menu bar, then choose the input source for the language whose keyboard you want to view. If you don’t see the Input menu, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Keyboard in the sidebar. On your Mac, click the Input menu in the menu bar, then choose Show Keyboard Viewer.
